Sonivis
SONIVIS was a scientific software for analysis of social network dynamics. Designed for quantitative studies of social graphs, it has been used at several universities for exploring and evaluating collaboration and knowledge management processes in businesses. The open-source project has been presented on Cebit ’08.
The tool allowed you to visualize various network types, e.g. wiki authorship networks and page networks, and to display applied metrics with various graph layouts and visualization methods.
SONIVIS might have inspired some parts of Gephi, a visual graph analysis tool that supersedes SONIVIS.
The tool was a university project at the University of Potsdam. I designed and implemented its system for graph metrics calculation + visualization (Java).
Used tech: Java, R language, Eclipse Rich Client Platform as application framework, SWT, prefuse visualization framework, igraph
